Suprahuman
Advances in biomechatronics have changed our world and they’re about to do it again.
We are rapidly erasing the distinction between man and machine. Today, quadriplegics can not only walk, they can dunk. Just look at the NBA. What used to be a game dominated by the super tall and super fast now looks more like a bionic technology showcase dominated by man-machine hybrids.
Behind these unprecedented scientific breakthroughs stands defense contractor OmniCorp and its newest RC-2000 program. The RC-2000 project has turned out dozens of revelatory studies, but its greatest work to-date is in its successful fusion of biologics and synthetics.
The neural interface technology advanced by the RC-2000 project has created a blueprint for extreme interfaces between materials like titaniums, graphene grafts and polymers to skin, bone, muscle and nerve. "Our hope is to create a direct electric connection so technology can exchange information with the brain that encompasses the whole spectrum of human feeling,” said OmniCorp CEO Raymond Sellars. With OmniCorp’s recent breakthroughs in synthetic neurobiology, more and more of the human body can be upgraded with technology.
It seems OmniCorp is on the verge of something sci-fi has only dreamed of—singularity. Or as Mr. Sellars likes to call it, “a better human”.
