Peace and Security Salon: Drones and Robots as Means of Modern Warfare
The Peace Palace Library starts a new lecture series on Peace and Security issues and has the pleasure to invite you for the first Peace and Security Salon on modern warfare on Thursday April 9. The Salon will discuss the current and likely future of drones and robots and the implications of such systems. The focus will be on the legal, military and operational and ethical challenges these new technologies pose in relation to modern warfare.

The Salon will take place in an informal setting with room for discussion. The language will be English. Please note that the number of seats is limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Location: Academy Building of the Peace Palace. Start: 20 h. Doors open: 19:30. Entrance fee € 5. Valid ID Required.

La démocratie participative n'est nullement réductible à la « démocratie d'opinion » en cela qu'elle crée les conditions nécessaires au déroulement d'un débat public ouvert et démocratique. Inspiré par des penseurs de la délibération collective tels que Jürgen Habermas et James S. Fishkin, l'impératif délibératif se fonde sur une logique simple : meilleure est la qualité du débat, plus légitimes et efficaces sont les décisions qui en découlent.
