The goal of the conference is to improve international cooperation with regard to the internet. Participants will also discuss standards for safe and responsible internet use. They want to expand the internet's role in increasing prosperity and social welfare.

To tackle the challenges arising from a fast-growing cyberspace and ensure a digitally resilient society, active participation is needed in a global debate among all stakeholders:

- international organisations;
- the private sector;
- civil society;
- the internet technical community;
- academics;
- the media.
