TILT´s research into the regulation of technology is centred on the interaction between law, technology, and society. Our researchers are drawn from and provide expertise in a wide array of relevant disciplines, including private law, public law, criminal law, international law and human rights, ICT law, ethics, public administration, social and political studies, psychology, and science and technology studies.
TILT's research is guided by a five-year research program, Understanding the Mutual Shaping of Regulation, Technology and Normative Outlooks (2009-2013). Within this program, we study many topical themes and domains. The overall aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the complex ways in which technology, regulation, and normative outlooks interact and shape each other. This understanding is essential for regulating technological developments and for stimulating innovation of socially-beneficial technologies.
