ALDE Conference 'Making the Euro fit for the 21st Century - the Future of the EMU'

Key-note speech by Mr Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission
The sovereign debt crisis has exposed the shortcomings in the construction of the Economic and Monetary Union. The institutional structure governing the euro could neither prevent nor fully resolve the crisis. It is high time that the common currency is embedded in a robust governance framework.
This conference will debate on what is needed to this end and how it can best be achieved by discussing the Five Presidents’ Report, the Commission reflection paper on EMU.

ALDE Members Petras Austrevicius, Marietje Schaake and Morten Løkkegaard are hosting a seminar on how to protect European democracy in a post-truth society.
Fake news, propaganda, social media, new technology companies: this seminar wants to develop a holistic approach toward these different, but interlinked challenges, which have ramifications on the EU’s internal digital single market policies and its domestic and external policies.
Interpretation will be provided in English and French.

P.s: La ville de La Haye et les penseurs européens souhaiteraient inviter les parlementaires européens à un colloque sur le comment bien et correctement gouverner en Europe au XXIème siècle. Guy Verhofstadt et Hans van Baalen des LibérauX viendraient parler de l'éthique dans les affaires européennes. Entre autres. Autre chose, les médias sont-ils libérauX ou libertaires? Et les questions fiscales et autres grands principes essentiels dans les affaires médiatiques à LuXembourg et ailleurs, quel parlementaire européen pour en parler à La Haye?
