Digital Agenda Assembly...

Digital Agenda Assembly (DAA)

19.06.2013 - 20.06.2013

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Of all the events being held during Ireland’s Presidency of the EU Council, one of the most significant will be the Digital Agenda Assembly (DAA) which will be held in Dublin Castle on the 19th & 20th June 2013.

The DAA is an annual European Commission event which provides a forum to strengthen collaboration and cooperation between Member States on the Digital Agenda for Europe. This year’s event will be an opportunity to consider the themes of the Digital Agenda for Europe review, to assess the progress and the challenges presented by the refocused actions and to seek ways to improve delivery in the context of the recent update.

The event will consist of seven thematic workshops on day one and a plenary session on day two. The main programme concept is around the digital lifecycle with an emphasis on digital skills, entrepreneurship and growth.

The event aims to be innovative, creative and interactive with the opportunity to showcase best practice examples from Ireland and across the EU in terms of policy, industry and other developments.

Speakers and delegates across the two days will include representatives from Google, Rovio, DG Connect, IBM, Alcatel-Lucent, Casey Games, Microsoft, Siemens, and a range of prominent individuals from digital society.

The event will host seven thematic workshops (on 19th June) focussing on ICT skills, smart cities and public services, research & innovation, broadband & cloud computing, cyber-security, entrepreneurship, and realisation of the Digital Single Market. On 20th June a plenary session will be opened jointly by Minister for Communications, Pat Rabbitte, T.D and EU Commission Vice President Neelie Kroes where delegates will participate interactively in the debate.

Neelie Kroes toujours... La réalité et le virtuel... Qui fait quoi? Il y a la "digital society" d'un côté, et la "civil society" de l'autre. Et si ces deux mondes se rencontraient? Peut-être que le ministère de la Culture et de la Communication en France pourrait s'en charger?
